When you upload a video to YouTube, you want people to find and watch it. You can't always get them to do that with just your title and description, so you need to add keywords and tags so that when people search for those terms on YouTube, your video will come up. The more relevant the keywords you choose, the more likely it is that people will find your video and watch it.
This browser extension will help you understand how keywords work on YouTube, what types of words you should use and how many there should be in your title and description. It also explains how to create tags for your videos and provides best practices for using them effectively.
Other tips for creating popular Youtube videos
The number of views a video has is one of the most important metrics to consider when you’re trying to gauge its popularity and potential for driving traffic.
If you want to learn more about the keywords a video has, there are two ways you can go about it. One way is by looking at the video’s title and description, and another is by using Google AdWords' Keyword Planner tool.
Let's take a look at how to do both:
- Find Keywords in the Video Title & Description
The first thing you should do is check if there are any keywords in your video title or description. This can help give you an idea of what people might be searching for when they come across your video.
To see if there are any keywords in your video’s title or description, click on “Edit Info” under your video thumbnail on YouTube, then click on “Advanced Settings” under Video Analytics (see below).
- Use Keyword Planner Tool from Google AdWords
If there aren't any keywords in your title or description, don't worry! You can still use Google AdWords' Keyword Planner tool to find out what people might be searching for when
Note: When changing video, YouTube does not update the keywords to match the new video. You need to reload the page to get the correct keywords of that video.
